Throughout the ages, oil has been usedfor different Purposes. It is commonly known that oil is a substance that is absorbed by Penetratng the skin. It was used as in sacred rites in the ancient Roman civilization and in other civilizations and cultures, and by kings mostly, althoughPriests had the exclusive use before it was extended to the use Queen/ kings. The traditionalPurpose ofoil teas to anoint, consecrate, and to make "holy". It has been used throughout Christianity, and we see its use in all the scriptures, both in the Old and New Testaments, and has been used conjoined with the relics ofthe Saints. The use of oil is an ongoing tradition that has been upheld in the Eastern Church and continues until this day. It was spoken of by Jesus in the Parable of the Good Samaritan as a methodfor curing, while Christian tradition made similar use by using the oil that was blessed tvith the relics the saints for healing.
